It’s that time of the year ago folks – as we enjoy the change in seasons, we will shortly be making changes to our menu to offer salads several times each week and some lighter, more ‘summery’ meal options.

2018 AGM – All our Volunteers are invited to attend and participate in the 2018 Annual General Meeting which is to be held with an after-noon tea at 2.30pm on Monday 29th October.
Any of our clients who might be interested are also welcome. (more…)

Newsletter – Winter 2018

Greetings all,

Looking back at the last financial year I am glad to be able to reflect on the number of projects we have completed such as the addition of the partition wall between the dining room and administration areas; painting through-out the kitchen and storage area; the installation of solar panels and also our new walk-in freezer. These are mostly projects that we received grants to complete in the past and we were extremely keen to demon-strate that we were committed to their undertaking. It’s a great relief to have all the projects completed and as mentioned in this, and previous, newsletters the additional funding received through Armidale Central Ro-tary has assisted us greatly to finish these projects properly.
All this has been taking place while we maintain the service of between 2,500 and 3,000 meals each month. We always welcome feedback about the meal service so please call the office if you have any issues to discuss.

Newsletter – Autumn 2018

2018-11-24T02:33:11+00:00May 1st, 2018|Newsletters|

As the chills of winter descend upon us again, I hope everyone has their firewood stacked and their rugs and uggs ready!

There was a bit of a hiccup with our kitchen staff in March when our Chef left us at short notice. We did manage to get our meals prepared and delivered with some assistance from our previous chef Kellie and a fantastic team effort from everyone here.

We are delighted to welcome Rachael Morley to Meals on Wheels as our new permanent Chef. She has moved to us from another local business who I am sure are missing her as much as we are enjoying having her here.

Happy 2018 to everyone!

We hope you have all had a lovely festive season, maybe enjoyed some family time, perhaps watching some cricket or tennis on the TV. We know many of our volunteer drivers have had a hectic time being grandparents over recent weeks and might be glad that school has gone back!

We have been very busy with our new chef Troy and the kitchen team prepar-ing extra frozen meals covering the public holidays and several Christmas func-tions we were delighted to host at the end of last year.

Spring at Last!

I hope everyone is enjoying the (slightly) warmer weather as we all sur-face from our winter hibernation again and hope for more rain.

We have welcomed a number of new clients to the service since our last newsletter – if you are new to Meals on Wheels, we hope you are enjoying the meals and also not having to worry about cooking or shopping as much any more. Don’t hesitate to contact the office if you have any questions about the service.

Newsletter – Winter 2017

Greetings!

Welcome to our new clients and also to our new volunteers. We have had many new consumers join the ranks of meal recipients in both Armidale and Uralla and we hope our meals are helping you get through the cool winter days (and nights!).

Some new volunteers have also joined us recently so if you see a new face on deliveries, make them feel welcome as part of our wonderful network.

Our Volunteers would have noticed the glass partition that has been erected around the administration area, to provide the staff a level of privacy for when the café is established. MOW had previously secured funding under the Armi-dale Regional Council’s Stronger Communities Fund for this partition and for our new freezer room which is still to come.
